Employee Turnover

Employee Turnover

Why employees turnover a problem? & its relevance in today’s time…

There was a time when a person used to do work for their whole life at a single office but time has changed. Today employees leave organizations frequently in search of better job options.
According to me, the main reason for this employee turnover is the increasing needs of human beings, stiff competition amongst rival firms and most importantly urge to be at top. And this tendency is most in young or employees having less than 10 years of working experience.
An organization spends lot of money in training its employees over the year which gets waste once the employee quits the organization. But can any organization stop employees in leaving the organization? A research says that only 16% employees leaves their present organization due to working environment, which clearly state that most of them have their personal reasons.
So can any motivation theory motivate employees so that they can leave this habit? Also I would like to mention Maslow’s need hierarchy theory here. Do the needs of employees change by virtue of time? Means if they have completed their level of need up to certain level, can the process starts again? Can they again have physiological need of high standards which needs to be fulfilled? We will discuss it next time.
In today’s diplomatic world, when organizations are striving hard to recover from economic crisis, and the hiring rate is so low, can it be considered that this attribute of leaving the organization by the choice will get over?
It may be criticized that many of the companies proudly says that their attrition rate is very low comparing to all other industries but most of them are engaged in FMCG or products like beverages and cigarettes. So it cannot be taken as consensus.

Comments and suggestion are always welcome...

Note: - I don’t want to describe basic HR terms here. We will discuss the causes and effects here… So enjoy reading.

CSR

CSR- Penalty for damage done to society

30/11/2013         7.00 AM

CSR, corporate social responsibility is something called as the welfare activities done by the corporate houses or business organizations in the society to increase their social values.
But can we call it as the penalty for the damage done by these organizations? So should we say that government has legalized the any organization can harm and get rid of their duties by paying 2% of their revenues as CSR according to
I want to mention some industries  those who are damaging the society by way of producing cigarettes and alcohol.
Some may criticize by saying that there are lots many organizations which are producing these kinds of products but I have mentioned these two organizations because they are considered as a BRAND in society and for their employees as well.
We have seen in recent timings how CSR has got enough attention but I don’t want to discuss that here.
I am just concern about the exploitation of nature and society. Government and organizations should stop window dressing and should come out for their actual responsibilities.

Comments and suggestion are welcome. :)
